La Mer Illuminating Eye Gel

I was pretty excited when La Mer launced the Illuminating Eye Gel*. The eye gel contains their cult Miracle Broth which has been so good to my skin so I’m excited to see if it will banish my puffy eye bags and dark circles after working into late nights.

The Illuminating Eye Gel comes in a white box that lights up from the inside when you open it (like a miniature fridge). It’s the little things like this that keeps me amused for hours.

Half a pump of gel was more than enough for both of my eyes. The gel gets absorbed almost immediately into your skin, and it is not oily, so no need to worry if your makeup will smear after. You will catch a whiff of La Mer’s soothing scent, but it disappears once you apply them around your eyes.
I use the eye gel on nights which I’ve burned the midnight oil, then following up with my regular moisturiser.
Lo and behold, no puffy eyebags the next morning! However, my dark circles are rather stubborn so I still need to conceal them.

I believe the Illuminating Eye Gel works best to prevent wrinkles and crow’s feet around the eyes as compared to banishing eye bags and dark circles, as the eye gel does give a boost of hydration once applied.

The La Mer Illuminating Eye Gel does not come cheap. Retailing at RM520 (15ml), it is a pretty steep investment!
It is already a hit with fans of the brand, so do drop by a La Mer counter (locations in Malaysia here) to sample the eye gel!
