Peter Thomas Roth Masks

Having received both Peter Thomas Roth’s Cucumber Gel Mask and the Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask, it is only fair to compare them just because, in general, gel masks are used to hydrate skin.

Both masks come in a clear plastic jar, which is great because I always like to see how much product I have left. It is also fun to see the masks wiggle and jiggle about when you shake it (not sure if I’m supposed to do that, but it keeps my inner child amused).

These Peter Thomas Roth masks can be applied overnight for more intense hydration as well, another fact I like as I tend to doze off without rinsing masks off. I do recommend using a gentle scrub or toner to better clean your face before leaving masks overnight. You don’t want the mask to trap any dirt.

I didn’t detect any scent from the Cucumber Gel Mask, which is good news for those who prefer fragrance-free products. However, it didn’t hydrate my skin as I would like, as my skin didn’t feel any different the next morning.

As for the Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask, it smells of lovely rose syrup, and as it has the texture of jelly, my stomach was telling me to eat it while my brain was telling me to not eat it! This really does smell and feel like a dessert. I do love the scent of roses (as previously mentioned in my previous post on Diptyque). This Rose mask hydrates more than the Cucumber one, but not remarkably much so.

Peter Thomas Roth Masks are available in Sephora stores in Malaysia. The Cucumber Gel Mask retails at RM188 (150ml) while the Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask retails at RM193 (150ml)
