I cannot remember the last time I’ve done a post on manicures, but when one is requested by ModCloth to create a nail art design based on one of their adorable dresses, why decline?

I’ve been rather obsessed with the colour lilac recently, so it’s no surprise I’ve selected this Give Me Amour dress.

For my nail art, I’ve decided to go with a lilac French manicure with gold tips. Starting off with a base coat, continue with two layers of lilac nail polish (remember to allow each layer to completely dry before proceeding with the next layer). Once dry, continue with the gold nail polish on the tips of your nails. For this look, I went freehand.

If you’d prefer to use cellophane tape as guide for your French tips, use drying drops (pictured here is Sephora’s Express Drying Drops, similar here) one minute after applying your final layer of lilac polish. Once your lilac base is dry, stick a strip of cellophane tape just under the tips of your nails and paint your gold polish. Leave the gold polish to dry for one minute with the tape still on your nails, then use the drying drops, wait for another minute, and finally, peel off the tape.

Finish off with top coat and you’re done!

Pearls rings are my own DIY, inspired by Chanel.

Nail polishes used: Revlon’s Multi Care Base + Top Coat; OPI’s You’re Such a Budapest; Chanel’s Diwali (similar here); Seche Vite top coat
