There is nothing like a statement piece of jewellery to amplify your outfit, and even more so if it’s handmade thus one-of-a-kind. I was recently invited by Jane and Elle Tan, the founders, designers and makers behind Janelle (an amalgamation of the two sisters’ names) to their home office to see their pieces up close.
Janelle was established was the sisters could not find jewellery and accessories they liked in stores. They started making their own, slowly and carefully hand-stitching each rhinestone. I have never seen anything quite like their designs in their market, and that has made me j’adore Janelle. My favourite is the Studstruck bracelet, but only the green one is available.
As some of their designs are more intricate, a factory was commissioned to produce them. Some of the standout ones are the Marie Louise rings and the Cocktail Necklaces, which can be worn backwards with a bare back dress.
Their latest collection also features a Fabergé egg-inspired ring, which opens up to reveal Janelle’s logo on a mother of pearl base. Imagine how adorable it would be on your table!
