I absolutely adore cleansing masks, just because they’re so convenient! Slather them on after cleansing your face, leave on for about 20 minutes, then voila! Clean, radiant skin!
I’ve been using The Body Shop’s Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Scrub Mask for quite a number of years already, so why not compare it to GLAMGLOW’s Supermud Clearing Treatment (gifted from Sephora)?
Both masks work similarly: each dries tautly on skin and provides a deep cleanse. GLAMGLOW’s is silkier and muddier in texture, while The Body Shop’s is denser and rougher like clay. The rougher texture also makes you use less product, which is better as the mask leaves a hot, tingly sensation on your skin. My friends did mention that it is rather painful, but it’s tolerable for me. GLAMGLOW’s give a cooling sensation (more pleasant) on the skin, so one point to GLAMGLOW. Both masks contain micro grains as well, so do give your skin a little scrub while you’re rinsing off.
Like all mud or clay masks, your skin will look cleaner and brighter after rinsing off, and GLAMGLOW’s and The Body Shop’s did not disappoint. However, I found that my skin looked more radiant after using GLAMGLOW’s mask compared to The Body Shop’s, so another point to GLAMGLOW!
So, which one to get?
GLAMGLOW’s Supermud retails for RM240 (34g) and The Body Shop’s Blue Corn mask retails for RM65.10 (120g).
Yes, huge difference in price and quantity. GLAMGLOW’s Supermud is almost 4 times more expensive that The Body Shop’s Blue Corn mask, and with only 1/4 of the quantity. Yikes.
If money is no object, you may splurge on GLAMGLOW, but The Body Shop’s is actually pretty decent and kinder to your purse as well.
