I’m growing up. How do I know?
Because I love lipsticks now. The bolder, the better!

If you’re looking for matte lipstick, and I mean incredibly matte ones, then Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet* lip lacquers is the holy grail of matte lip products. They are too pigmented to be lipgloss, yet they come in a bottle unlike lipsticks. Lip lacquers it is then!
Pictured above are the shades Hot Pepper and Frambourjoise, which I love!

Matte lipsticks last much longer on your lips than glossy ones as they don’t budge or smudge due to the drier texture. Do keep a bottle of makeup remover (oil- or cream-based ones) on standby. Matte lipsticks also tend to cling onto dry skin and make chapped or flaky lips look even worse. A little lip scrub using an old toothbrush is recommended 😉
Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet lip lacquers are weightless and did not dry out my lips. They can last an entire day if you’re careful during meals.

For a sheer finish, just swipe the brush onto your lips. If you’d prefer an opaque finish (like me), I’ve found that dabbing the brush across your lips and then blending gives a very bold look!
I’ve received many compliments when I wore them out to a meeting (so excited to share the news, so stay tuned!) and my aerial hoop class, and I just had to recommend Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet and oh-so-subtly mention the fact that Bourjois and Chanel Cosmetics are sisters, so you get the same quality for a fraction of the price!

Bourjois’ Rouge Edition Velvet lip lacquers retail for RM42.90 (6.7ml). A weightless, highly-pigmented and matte lip lacquer for under RM50?
This is a holy grail product, ladies!
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lip lacquers are available at the Bourjois kiosk in Sunway Pyramid, and selected Watson’s pharmacies nationwide.
