If Cheryl hadn't told me about TWG Tea, I would have never have known its existence.
Priding its self with "the finest teas of the world", I couldn't resist the pull of their afternoon tea set.
Serving their tea in 18K gold-plated Sahara teapots with a menu filled with tea-infused dishes (both sweet and savoury), we just had to give TWG Tea Salon & Boutique a go!
An extensive tea list, front and back!
TWG Tea Lasagna with bolognaise ragout with their signature homemade tomato and fresh basil sauce infused with Morrocan Mint Tea.
I'm not an expert on cheese, but the infused tea may have brought out stronger flavours of the mozzarella cheese, and I liked it.
Costs an eye-watering RM38.50.
We finally decided on chocolate tea just to see if TWG Tea could pull off a chocolate tea blend.
They proved us wrong!
Along with a choice of tea, the Fortune tea set comes with sandwiches (turkey ham, smoked salmon or vegetarian), 2 freshly baked scones or muffins with TWG Tea jelly and whipped cream or 1 patisserie, and a choice of 3 maracons.
RM55 (It's actually cheaper than Delicious' set)
Afternoon tea is served from 3pm-6pm, but be there early to beat the crowd.
I'm not a fan of salmon (mentioned here previously) but the salmon was smoked perfectly and it went very well with the Gruyère cheese.
Best toast I've ever had.
Next up was the mixed berry tart.
Yellow: Lemon bush tea; Pink: Bain de Roses tea; Black: Napolean tea with caramel.
And now, the moment of truth.
I'm rather picky about macarons since these tiny things cost a lot.
One bite and I went to macaron heaven. The crust was like any other egg shell, but it was so chewy and fluffy on the inside.
(I haven't tried Ladurée or Pierre Hermé)
Brought home half a dozen at RM4 each.
