What to Do in Tokyo?

Yes, I will be heading to Tokyo next April for a week with my mom and Sheila!
We got our super cheap flight tickets off the AirAsia sale, and all we have left to do is to figure out what we will be doing there so we can book a hotel.
I've heard that it's impossible to get hotels during sakura season so we'll need to book super early!

This is what I've planned so far (which isn't much actually)

Enjoy (and photograph) sakura!
We will be there on the first and second week of April just in case the sakura blooms a bit later than usual.

Meet geishas (or dress up like one for the fun of it!)
I've been fascinated with them after reading and watching 'Memoirs of a Geisha'

Have some Japanese tea the traditional way (right down to opening doors properly)

Visit quirky restaurants like the Alice in Wonderland restaurant!

Get a Chanel flap bag for myself!
There are a lot of stores selling preloved designer bags in Japan which my mom and I discovered while browsing for bags on eBay.

Besides indulging in food, Doraemon, Hello Kitty and other tourist-y stuff like visiting parks and temples, what are the must-sees and must-dos in Tokyo?
I've received lovely suggestions via Twitter from friends who are Japanese/have lived in Japan, and will be researching soon.
Thank you, ladies! ♥

We need to figure out an itinerary before we can book a hotel, so type away ;)

  1. Haha, one year ahead and you have already started planning? Someone is very very very excited about this trip! Ask Kevin, I bet he can recommend you some places. Hotels at Tokyo are not cheap though.

  2. Ah Tokyo is my dream destination and yes I'd love to be there when the cherry blossoms bloom...(now I realise I'm not the only one who prefers this season). And yup, Hello Kitty is also a reason explaining why I want to travel to Japan!

    1. The sakura season is THE peak season in Japan! And I've actually hated Hello Kitty when I was younger. Now I think she's adorable!

  3. I think it might be hard to see/dress up like a geisha in tokyo. u should go to kyoto for that! definitely go to harajuku and ginza for shopping. visit asakusa and the imperial palace too!

    1. Thank you so much for your advice, Niko! I've expected the geishas to be in Kyoto (from 'Memoirs of a Geisha).

The Imperial Palace is a must!
